Topic: Glenbow Archive Tour

Archivist Doug Cass will provide a guided tour of the Glenbow Archives for ARMA Calgary members interested in getting a closer look at the operations of one of Calgary’s largest archives. See how the Glenbow archive maintains their collection of over one million objects, documents, photographs and film and take advantage of this opportunity to learn and enquire about the challenges in managing such a diverse collection of media.

As a key cultural cornerstone in Calgary for 50 years, Glenbow has surprised and engaged generations of Albertans and visitors to the province with remarkable connections between art, culture and the world around us. Glenbow’s collection represents Western Canadian art and culture, both as a repository of important cultural history but also as a living record of contemporary life in this part of the world. Their collecting priorities respond to the community and over the past 50 years, the collection has shifted and adapted to incorporate new voices and perspectives.
