2010 Awards

The Calgary Chapter is proud to announce that Uta Fox, current past president, was awarded the Canada Region Member Recognition Award 2010 (CRMRA) at the 2010 ARMA Canada Conference in London, Ontario. Congratulations Uta!

You belong to an Award Winning Chapter! Thank you for the opportunity to represent the Calgary Chapter at the 54th annual ARMA International Conference Leadership seminars.  As well as leadership I was able to attend the ARMA International Award Luncheon on behalf of the Chapter.

The Awards Luncheon was held on Wednesday October 15th, roughly the same time as our own Chapter Programs.   The awards ceremony began, and Calgary had submissions in the Chapter Newsletter of the Year and Chapter of the Year for a Very Large Chapter (150+ members).  The awards start with small chapter and finish with Very Large. 

Newsletter Awards were being announced and as the presenter announced “...And for Very Large Chapter....Calgary!  A roar went up from our table of Canadians; we had won the Chapter Newsletter of the year for the very large chapter!  Thank you all for your wonderful submissions to a award winning newsletter!!

To Justin Kennedy, Calgary Chapter Newsletter Editor 2008-09 a very special thank you.  Thank you, for all of your very hard work last year.  For your never ending patience with my late submissions, for the award winning styling; for the long hours and for working with International to complete the submission. Thank you!

This is just wonderful news; and as the award started to come to a close with the announcement of the Chapter of the Year winner, we sat on the edge of our seats; the presenter announced the winner for Small Chapter, no submission for Medium chapter, the winner for the Large Chapter - I could hardly breath!  - Then they announced "And the winner of the Very Large Chapter for Chapter of the Year...Houston!"  Yelps and screams from our sister chapter and cheers of congratulations from all of us at the Canadian table. To a room of applause the Houston Chapter President went forward to receive the award. 

And as we all sat expecting the end of the ceremony; a representative of the Awards Committee got up again....and announced that they had just one final award -- Honourable mention for Chapter of the Year, for Very Large Chapter ....CALGARY!!! 

This is your ARMA Chapter, and this is your Honourable Mention! It is a great measure of everyone’s hard work!  And I am honoured to be your representative. Thank you all.
